The threshold for this year's billion-dollar club rankings is 2.8 billion US dollars, of which BASF, Sinopec, and Dow Chemical occupy the top three. German chemical giant BASF continues to hold the top spot, and this company has topped the list 10 times in the past 13 years.
The top ten chemical companies are not much different from 2020. Among them, three Chinese companies enter the top ten on the list, namely Sinopec, Formosa Plastics Group, and China National Chemical Corporation. From the perspective of country distribution, most chemical companies are in the United States, Japan, China, and Germany.
