View relevant certifications and labels
Certification Mark: Food grade silicone rubber products usually have relevant certification marks, such as FDA certification in the United States and LFGB certification in the European Union. These certifications are an important basis for products to comply with food contact safety standards. If the product claims to be food grade silicone rubber, the merchant can be required to provide relevant certification certificates or check whether there is a corresponding certification mark on the product packaging.
Product identification: Legitimate food grade silicone rubber products will be clearly labeled with the words "food grade" on the product itself or packaging, and may also indicate information such as material composition, temperature range of use, and applicable scenarios.

Observe appearance and texture
Color: High quality food grade silicone rubber usually has a uniform and natural color, with no obvious color difference. If it is a transparent silicone rubber product, it should have high transparency, no turbidity, bubbles or impurities; If there are colored products, the color should be bright and stable, and there should be no fading phenomenon.
Odor: Food grade silicone rubber itself has a small odor and almost no obvious pungent smell. If silicone rubber products have a strong pungent, rubbery, or other odor, they are likely not food grade or have quality issues.
Texture: Touched by hand, food grade silicone rubber has a soft, smooth texture, good elasticity, comfortable hand feel, and no rough, sticky or prickly feeling. After pressing firmly, silicone rubber can quickly return to its original state without leaving obvious indentations or deformations.

Conduct simple performance testing
Heat resistance test: Food grade silicone rubber generally has good heat resistance. Silicone rubber products can be tested in a high-temperature environment, such as heating at a temperature of 120 ℃ -200 ℃ for a period of time (be careful not to exceed the maximum operating temperature indicated on the product label), to observe whether they will deform, melt, produce odors, or release harmful substances. If there is an abnormality, it is likely not food grade silicone rubber.
Waterproof immersion test: Soak silicone rubber products in water and observe whether they will swell, discolor, emit odors, and other phenomena. After soaking in water, food grade silicone rubber should have relatively stable performance and not cause water pollution.
Flexibility test: Food grade silicone rubber has good flexibility and elasticity, and can be bent, twisted, and other operations on products to observe whether it is easy to break or crack. High quality food grade silicone rubber can maintain good performance even after repeated bending and twisting.

Understand the source and brand of the product
Purchasing channels: Choose legitimate purchasing channels such as large supermarkets, mother and baby specialty stores, official flagship stores, etc. The products sold through these channels usually undergo certain quality screening and auditing, which provides greater assurance.
Brand reputation: Renowned brands and manufacturers with good reputations usually pay more attention to product quality and safety, and have stricter production processes and quality control. You can learn about it by examining product reviews, brand history, and reputation.
