LyondellBasell announced the launch of Ulsan PP Co., Ltd.'s polypropylene production facility with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons. The facility is located in Ulsan, a port city in South Korea, and is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Asia. Ulsan PP is a joint venture between PolyMirae Company (a 50:50 joint venture between Lyondell Basel and DL Chemical) and SK Advanced. The facility uses LyondellBasell's fifth-generation Spheripol PP process technology. According to the joint venture agreement, PolyMirae will be responsible for selling all polypropylene products produced at the facility to Asian customers.
In May 2021, LyondellBasell Industries ranked 332th in the "2021 Forbes Global 2000".
