Three properties of silicone rubber

Ordinary silicone rubber raw materials contain precipitated substances, and their color usually presents a translucent or milky white color. Silicone rubber products have three major properties that we need to understand. Today, I will briefly introduce what are the three major properties of silicone rubber products.

1. High temperature resistance

The most notable feature of silicone rubber is its high temperature stability and can be used for a long time in an environment of 250℃~300℃. If appropriate silicone rubber fillers and silicone rubber high-temperature additives are selected, the use temperature can be as high as 375℃ and can withstand instantaneous high temperatures of thousands of degrees. It is estimated that the service life of silicone rubber can be up to 20 years at 120°C and 5 years at 150°C, and it is not easy to age.

2. Low temperature resistance flexibility

Silicone rubber products have inherent low-temperature flexibility. Silicone product processing or other synthetic rubbers have a low embrittlement point. Silicone rubber generally can work normally at low temperatures of -50℃ to -60℃.

3. Breathability

Silicone rubber film has good air permeability. The air permeability at room temperature to air, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases is 30-50 times higher than that of natural rubber.
