DuPont recently announced that it will invest approximately US$30 million to build a new production plant in Jiangsu Province, China. The new plant will produce adhesive products for customers in the automotive industry to meet the two major development trends of automotive electrification and lightweight. Construction of the plant will begin in the third quarter of 2021 and is expected to be put into operation in early 2023.
Designed to meet the market's growing demand for DuPont Transportation and Materials Division’s advanced adhesive technology solutions, including the following products:
1. BETAFORCE™ TC and BETATECH™ thermal interface materials-provide support for battery thermal management during charging and running of hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles.
2. BETAFORCE™ composite adhesive-for battery sealing and assembly.
3. BETAMATE™ Structural Adhesive-used for car body structure and battery bonding, which can improve the impact resistance of the car and reduce the weight of the body structure.
In addition, DuPont recently built a new adhesive production plant in Utsunomiya, Japan, to support the development of automobile electrification. DuPont will produce BETATECH™ thermal interface materials, BETAFORCE™ TC thermally conductive adhesives, BETAFORCE™ composite adhesives and BETAMATE™ structural adhesives at the plant.
