Carbon Pill Conductive Rubber Keypad 4x4 Matrix 50 Shore A Epoxy Coated for Industrial Control Panel

Carbon Pill Conductive Rubber Keypad, 4x4 Matrix, 50 Shore A

This conductive rubber keypad is built on a 4x4 matrix layout with carbon pill contacts moulded directly into each key pad. The conductive carbon pills close the circuit when the key is pressed, giving a clean, chatter-free signal without any metal dome or membrane layer. The silicone body is compression moulded at 50 ± 5 Shore A, then finished with an epoxy coated surface that resists abrasion, hand oil and repeated cleaning.

Every keypad is produced from a customer approved 2D or 3D drawing, with tooling built in house. Printing, laser etching, carbon pill placement, epoxy coating and final electrical test all run under one roof, so the contact resistance and actuation feel stay consistent from the first sample to the ten-thousandth piece.

Application Scenarios

The carbon pill construction suits control panels that need frequent, tactile input in environments where dust, moisture, oil mist or cleaning chemicals are present.

Test and Measurement InstrumentsBench meters, data loggers, calibration panels and portable testers where keys must stay reliable against dust and workshop grime.
Industrial Control and InstrumentationMachine panels, meter fronts, test instruments and handheld terminals that need a reliable tactile feedback after tens of thousands of presses.
Communication and Intercom DevicesTwo-way radios, door intercoms, access control panels and dispatch consoles with backlit key legends.
Household and Small ApplianceRemote controls, air conditioner panels, water purifier and kitchen appliance keypads.
POS, Payment and Vending TerminalsNumeric keypads on payment terminals, ticketing machines and vending interfaces exposed to public daily use.
Security, Access and Automotive AftermarketAlarm keypads, elevator call boards, charging pile panels and aftermarket dashboard controllers.

Quality Assurance

Quality control is written into each production step rather than added at the end of the line.

StageControl Measure
Raw materialSilicone compound checked batch by batch for hardness, tensile strength and RoHS compliance; material certificate filed with the order record.
Tooling and sampleFirst article sample measured against the approved 2D / 3D drawing, including key height, pitch and web thickness, and signed off before mass production.
MouldingCompression moulding with fixed cure time, temperature and pressure curves; first piece inspection every shift.
Electrical test100% contact resistance check on every key of every panel; units exceeding 100 Ohm are rejected.
Visual and dimensionalAQL 1.0 sampling on appearance, legend alignment, colour match and flash; dimensional check on critical keys.
ReliabilityCycle life, high and low temperature ageing, and cleaning agent resistance tested on each new tool.

Each shipment is accompanied by an inspection report covering hardness, contact resistance, dimensional results and packing count, so your incoming quality team can verify the lot without re-testing everything.

Packaging Standards

Keypads are delicate on the key face and static sensitive when carbon loaded, so the packing sequence protects both the surface and the electrical performance.

FAQ

Q: Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

We are a manufacturer with our own moulding workshop and tooling shop, plus an overseas sales team that handles documentation and export for you.

Q: What is your MOQ?

2,000 pcs per model for a standard keypad. For a brand new tool the MOQ can be adjusted, please send your drawing and annual volume so we can quote accordingly.

Q: Can I get samples before ordering?

Yes. Stock samples are free of charge and you pay the freight. For a custom design, we provide 5 free pcs after the tooling cost is settled, usually in 7 to 10 days.

Q: What drawing format do you need?

2D drawing in PDF, DWG or DXF with key layout and dimensions, or a 3D STEP file. A physical sample of your current keypad also works, we will reverse engineer it and send a drawing for approval.

Q: What is the production lead time?

Custom sample 7 to 10 days. Mass production 15 to 20 working days after sample approval, or 7 to 15 working days for repeat orders with existing tooling.

Q: How do you handle a quality problem?

Send photos and the quantity affected. Within 24 hours we give a root cause and corrective action. Confirmed defects are replaced in the next shipment or credited, and we cover the return freight when the fault is on our side.

Q: Which payment terms do you accept?
