Carbon Pill Conductive Rubber Keypad 50 Shore A Silicone Keypad For Industrial Control Panel

Carbon Pill Conductive Rubber Keypad

This carbon pill conductive rubber keypad is compression molded from 50±5 Shore A silicone rubber and fitted with molded carbon pills on the contact side. When a key is pressed, the carbon pill bridges the PCB pad pair and closes the circuit without any metal dome or mechanical switch. The result is a sealed, long-life keypad with a soft tactile feel that suits control panels used in dust, moisture and high-cycle environments.

Application Scenarios

  • Industrial control panels & machine HMI: sealed front panels for CNC machines, packaging lines, inverters and instrument housings.
  • Medical and laboratory equipment: wipe-down control panels for analyzers, patient monitors and sterilizable device housings.
  • POS and payment terminals: numeric keypads on payment terminals, vending machines and ticketing kiosks.
  • Two-way radio and intercom: PTT and channel keys on handheld radios, door intercoms and dispatch consoles.
  • Household appliances: control keys for air conditioners, induction cookers, washing machines and water purifiers.
  • Security and access control: outdoor door entry keypads and locker control panels.

Quality Assurance

  • ISO 9001 quality system: incoming material, in-process and outgoing inspection are recorded for every production lot.
  • Material control: silicone compound is checked for hardness, tensile strength and elongation before molding; SGS, RoHS and REACH reports are available on request.
  • 100% contact test: every keypad is pressed on a test fixture to verify carbon pill contact resistance and key force before packing.
  • Reliability testing: 500,000-cycle key life test, −40 °C to +80 °C ageing, 85 °C / 85% RH damp heat and alcohol rub legend test on sample lots.
  • Outgoing inspection: AQL 0.65 major / 1.5 minor, with a test report issued for each shipment.

FAQ

Q: What is the MOQ for a custom keypad?
A: 2,000 pcs per design. Trial orders of 500 pcs can be discussed for new projects.

Q: How long does sampling take?
A: 7–10 working days for a new tool, 3–5 working days for a sample from an existing tool. Tooling cost is quoted separately and can be refunded against quantity orders.

Q: Can you produce from our 2D/3D drawing or a physical sample?
A: Yes. Send the drawing in STEP, DWG or PDF, or a physical sample, and we will confirm key layout, hardness, legend and contact type before tooling.

Q: Can the keypad be backlit or epoxy coated?
A: Yes. Laser etched backlit legends, epoxy dome coating, matt oil coating and luminous material are all available.

Q: What is the normal lead time?
A: 7–15 working days for repeat orders after sample approval, 18–25 working days for the first mass production run.
